Free School Meals
Free School Meals
You may be entitled to a benefit to support your child’s education and in addition, they will receive a daily free school meal.
Applications are available at the school front office or you can apply directly by saving the free school meals application form (PDF, 101.88 KB) to your device, fill in your details, and then email as an attachment to freeschoolmeals@enfield.gov.uk.
Your child might be able to get free school meals if you receive one of the following benefits:
• Universal Credit provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400 (£616.67 per month)
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guarantee element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit only (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit) with an annual gross income of no more than £16,190. Working Tax Credit is a disqualifying benefit regardless of your household income – this means that you would not be entitled to free school meals whilst in receipt of Working Tax Credit
• Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.
If your child is eligible for free school meals, they will remain eligible until they finish the phase of schooling (primary or secondary) they are in on 31 March 2025.
Families with no recourse to public funds:
The government has permanently extended free school meal eligibility to children in households with no recourse to public funds (NRPF). Subject to maximum income thresholds. Income includes any income or support you get in addition to the combined earnings of you and your partner.
