Inclusion at Lea Valley Academy The Inclusion Department is responsible for the co-ordination, design, provision, and statutory compliance in relation to SEND. At Lea Valley, Inclusion works in close partnership with all other areas of the School, with close guidance and line management from the Senior Leadership Team.

We believe that every young person has the right to access a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, regardless of need, background or starting point. We are committed to ensuring that pupils with SEND can participate fully in all aspects of school life and are supported to achieve their potential academically, socially and emotionally.

Our approach is built on the principle that every teacher is a teacher of SEND and that high-quality adaptive teaching is the foundation of effective inclusion. We recognise that additional intervention and specialist support should complement, rather than replace, excellent classroom practice.
